Ports of Long Beach and Los Angelas to Collect Clean Truck Fund fee Starting April

March 22, 2022

A $20 fee on round trips and 20-foot containers will be imposed if it's approved during public hearings this summer. But the Port of Long Beach will wait until the implementation of the surcharge at Los Angeles is studied before deciding whether to follow suit, said Art Wong, port spokesman. The charge is also intended to encourage shippers and trucking companies to use chassis owned by ocean carriers and terminal operators instead of independent chassis providers. Learn more here.
