Digital driver’s licenses and state IDs have landed, but only at Arizona airport

The announcement comes at a time when many businesses are either shutting down or operating at reduced capacity because of the coronavirus pandemic. With fewer people traveling and going out to eat, both Apple and Arizona could see an increase in digital ID usage as more people work from home. Digital documents are anything but new: Most states use electronic driver’s license systems, where paper licenses are printed using information stored electronically.
