The first application of this technology will be a platooning system that allows trucks to automatically follow each other at close distances while maintaining a safe distance between them. In addition to its all-electric zero-emission truck, Volvo Trucks plans to offer a hybrid version as well as a range of engines with lower emissions levels than today's models — part of what Voorhoeve called "one of the most comprehensive ranges of next-generation powertrains."
